Sports at St John Fisher
You will find lots of sports fans here at St John Fisher School; adults and children. As well as taking part in PE lessons, throughout the year there are a number of different after-school sports club on offer, including boys' football, girls' football, tennis, netball and dance.
We represent the school in a number of different activities and many of us take part in sporting activities in the evenings and weekends. In our sharing assemblies on Fridays Ms Carbon reads out notes from parents and presents trophies and certificates and together we celebrate our sporting achievements; dance (street and Irish dancing), swimming, ice-hockey, football, rugby, gymnastics.
Summer Term 2016
It has been another busy term for sporting activities here at St John Fisher School.
Year 5 and 6 pupils are fortunate enough to have a Cricket Coach teaching them how to play cricket this term; there is also an opportunity for them to stay after school on Mondays for some small group cricket sessions - How's that?
This term our Year 6 pupils are having some of their PE lessons at The Oxford Academy; they will be learning lots of new skills and taking part in different sports each week. They will be visiting the Blackbird Leys Leisure Centre on Friday afternoons for their swimming lessons.
Some of our Year 5 and Year 6 pupils took part in a Swimming Gala and the BBL Leisure Centre and came 2nd. Congratulations to all who took part.
We are holding our Sports Days during National Sports Week, 20th - 25th June. EYFS/KS1; Tuesday 21st in the morning; KS2 in the afternoon of 23rd June.

SJF v Windmill School. Well done to Windmill School who won 3-0. Both teams played well and enjoyed the game.
SJF v Rose Hill.
Year 5 pupils took part in 12 events in the Sainsbury's School Games Indoor Athletics event at the Blackbird Leys Leisure Centre. They came second and qualified for the District Finals at the Ferry Sports Centre where they came 7th. For many children it was the first time they had taken part in a competition and really enjoyed the experience. While they were disappointed not to win they should be proud of their efforts. Here are some of the comments from those who took part - click here.
