Home learning packs are available for reception children.
Come back each day to have a look at this page as new ideas, activities, links and stories will be added daily.
Children in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) learn best when they can play, explore and learn about things that interest them and in school children have lots of time and space to do this. Below you will find some links and information that you can access on a daily basis to support your child's learning at home. There will also be some directed activities below that you can do with your child.
Week 5 - Baptism
This week we have started learning about baptism in school. Can you draw a picture and label the people in your family? Who is in God's family?
Look at the pictures. Can you use them to retell the Christmas story so far? You could cut them out and stick them in order. Why is the Christmas story important to you?
Week 2 - The Christmas Story
Watch the video of the Angel Gabriel telling Mary that she is going to have a special baby called Jesus. Have you ever been asked to do an important job? Do you always have to say yes?
Here is some more of the Christmas story:
Imagine that you were a shepherd and you went to Bethlehem to meet baby Jesus. What would you say when you arrived at the stable?
Week 1 - Happy New Year!
Have a look at the New Year fireworks and listen to Big Ben Chime!
You could talk about how many months there are in the year and learn the names in a rhyme:
January, February, March and April,
May, June, July and August,
September, October, November, December,
Twelve months of the year!
Which months are special to you or your family? What happens in the different months? Have you got any new years resolutions? You could decorate this 2021 banner with fireworks, balloons and patterns.
Snowflake Number Cards
Snowflake Tracing Cards
Here is a phonics sound mat. Your child could practise saying the phonemes (sounds) and writing each grapheme (letter). They could use the sound mat to help them spell words when writing.
Sometimes 2 letters make one sound, these are called digraphs. You can practise these too!
Have a look at this video to help you pronounce them correctly:
You can practise reading the words in this book. Remember to say each sound and then blend the word together.
Wednesday 6th January 2020
Have a go at saying the sounds. Click on the picture to play.
Sound out the word e.g. b a g and blend it together e.g. bag.
. . .
Can you match the words and pictures?
Try to read with your child every day. You could read to them and they could read to you. Have a look at the leaflet below for some way to support reading at home.
'The letters we have been learning' referred to in the document below can be found in the home learning packs available for collection.
