Our Faith

Together with parents and the parish, we seek to develop and nurture the Catholic faith of our children and bring them to a fuller understanding and knowledge of Catholic teaching and tradition. Our religious teaching is not confined to specific daily lessons but permeates through the school.

Our Churches

Strong links exist between our school and our parishes;

Father John and Father Naz are regular visitors to school for Mass, prayer services and to visit individual classes. There are opportunities for the children to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation during Advent and Lent. We in turn attend Mass in church several times a year. Parents and members of the community join us for Mass and on Fridays for our sharing assembly.

Bishop William Kenney, our local auxiliary bishop, conducted parish visitations to Sacred Heart in December 2017 and to Blessed Dominic Barberi in February 2018. We welcomed the opportunity to talk about our school and community. He hopes to visit us in school later on in the year.

On Tuesday 29th September, Father John led us in a Harvest Mass. The children created beautiful pieces of artwork linked to harvest, as well as baking apple crumbles, scones and soup for the offertory. We would like to thank all the adults we helped us celebrate the Mass. We would also like to thank everyone who donated tinned foods, which we will divide between our two parishes.
