Harvesting

The allotment is green!

I am sure you are all aware how successful our allotment has been so far this term, watching it grow day by day!

It has taken a lot of work, and a lot of weeding by Mr Higgins in his holidays, to get it to the shape it is in today.

Our School Council were the latest group to go and and work on harvesting the fruits of our labour.

We spent over an hour picking peas, mangetout, radishes and beetroot - we know that the lettuce needs trimming, but the rain forced us back in.

The helpers have all gone home with a bag of veg, and the remain radishes and peas have been shared out wider.

Hopefully we will be able to share the lettuce further (as there is so much) and we are very much looking forward to the courgettes, as the plants look massive already.

Sadly the slugs and birds have taken a liking to the cabbages!
