Oxfordshire Young Chefs of The Year

St John Fisher Champions Again

In case you missed it, which I doubt you did, our three amazing chefs from Year 6 have been names Oxfordshire Primary Chefs of the Year.

A menu was designed based around our allotment, the eggs from the chickens, and the food from the Oxford Hub which we put out to share with families.

The children were selected to bake live, without any help from Mrs Turton, and against the clock.

They baked a souffle (I know!), fresh pasta, and a courgette brownie, and they wowed the judges to come out victorious!

I had been telling them they needed to caramalise a courgette for the top of the brownie, so Mrs Turton would have never lived it down if they hadn't won.

It is amazing to be able to show such a wide range of talents, and make the most of the opportunities we have here at school.

The children and Mrs Turton have been on BBC Radio Oxford to celebrate, and there are articles on the BBC and Oxford Press which can be found here:

Hopefully Mrs Turton and the team will cook for us all
